We’re at Five 0 headquarters. McG and Joe are having words. McG tells Joe he’s ‘done dancing with him’ and he’ll find Shellburne without Joe’s help. Which is kind of stupid, because McG knows that Joe is the person who’s been moving Shellburne every time McG gets close. But wait…Joe is here to take McG to meet Shellburne!
Damn! McG’s phone rings. His eyes do a crazy dance around the room, even though he’s just said he’s done dancing and he gets the news about Fryer. McG insists that Joe comes with him, because he knows Joe is a LLWL and might change his mind about taking McG to meet Shellburne.
They arrive at the crime scene, and Chin relays all the information they have so far. Some creepy looking guy with a toothpick asks Kono what’s going on – it’s random, so we know he’s going to figure somewhere later.
Max is there examining the body. There’s lots of technical talk about the proximity of the gunshot wounds, blah blah blah, then McG explains exactly what happened. Even though he wasn’t actually there at the time. He also notices the extremely neat printing on the GOODBYE sign, and wishes his penmanship was nice like that. And masculine. Because we know from the episode when McG wrote ‘that’ letter, his writing is kind of girly. The decision is made that the killing of Captain Fryer was personal. And that Fryer got a shot off before he died.
Belatedly, Max notices some drops of blood. I thought he would have noticed them sooner – he follows the trail and bang! He gets shot! OMG Maaaaaaax! We see the killer escape through a doorway. McG, Chin and Danny run after the killer while Joe and Kono tend to Max.
McG kicks the door in (did you expect anything less?) and exits the other side just in time to see a white POLICE car screech off. McG has his BAMF face on and fires multiple shots but misses. Probably the only time he will ever miss his target. An awesome car chase follows, with the Camaro pursuing the stolen car followed by a gazillion HPD cars.
The stolen car drives right into the parking garage of HPD! Good plan, because now the Five-0s don’t know where to look. Danny says ‘Pretty sure it’s the white one.’ A stairwell door closes and they give chase. They go up the stairs, and McG enters the operations rooms of HPD. He does the most awesome leap up onto a desk, informs everyone that Captain Fryer has been killed, the killer is in da house and to lock down the building
Danny is viewing the security cameras and sees the killer in the basement. Everyone gives chase (I’m reminded of The Keystone Cops here) and McG enquires sympathetically of a young woman who is on the ground whether she is ok. We’re all jealous of her at the moment because of the way he’s gripping her shoulder. She says she was bullrushed and gives McG a description of the guy. And her phone number.
